                                          Picture
I started practicing yoga regularly in 2003 while studying psychology at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. With a strong background in dance, I was instantly swept away by the graceful and artistic expression of human form through the practice of yoga asana.  However, as my yoga practice deepened, yoga became far more than a form of art to me, but a wise teacher with whom I sit regularly.  In 2007 I completed my yoga teacher training and mentorships with John Berg and Anirudh Shastri at Avalon Art and Yoga Center, at which point I joined Avalon’s dynamic team as a regular hatha yoga instructor.  I have since been lured even deeper into the supreme realm of yoga teaching primarily hatha, vinyasa and yin yoga classes at many studios throughout the bay area and in Santa Cruz County.

As well as being an experienced yoga teacher, I have a masters degree in transpersonal counseling psychology and I am a certified steward of in-depth communication in process-oriented groups.  Deeply touched and transformed by both yoga and the process of intense self-study during my schooling at The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, I feel deeply called to integrate my understanding of yoga with the introspective power of psychology, inviting travelers of the yogic path to embody a deeper understanding of yoga and of themselves both on and off the mat.
