Susan has been an avid equestrian for over 30 years, and a practicing yoga for almost half that time. Susan found yoga after a riding accident that left her with chronic pain and deep-rooted fear. Refusing to give up her love of riding, she found yoga was the perfect way to approach her fear and pain using the integration of mind, body, and spirit. By using pranayama (breath control) to calm her nerves, asana (yoga postures) to balance her body, and meditation to re-direct her thoughts, Susan was able to continue growing as a rider. Today Susan has a thoroughbred which she has competed in dressage and eventing, and a mustang that she's bringing along in dressage and trail riding. Susan's passion for yoga as a perfect complement to riding has inspired her to start her Yoga for Equestrians program at Dragonfly Yoga Studio.
